Lucy's Story
Hey Devils,
Hope all of you are well, and off to a great new year! Currently, we're living in Bartlett, but fixing to put our house up for sale. Probably going to move back to Germantown.
Speaking of G'twn, I'd love to hear from of you! I talk to a few of the old gang every now and then, but it seems the older I get the less I(we) get out!
Who can remember what I gave away to everyone I saw just about every day of school! Get your heads out of the gutter; A SMILE!
From the story wizard:
My best friend would tell you I'm whitty and fun, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as quiet & shy.
I always had a smile to give away.
I love walking on the beach and deep sea fishing. I love fishing anywhere!
Life
I married Philip Burkhalter. He grew up in the Nashville/Franklin area. Being the team Captain for three of the four years, Philip played football for Brentwood Academy. We have a wonderful life together.
School
We all thought we had it so bad when we were in school! A gang was only the friends that we hung out with, not a group of thugs and criminals carrying guns. The GANG was fun, not a group to be afraid of.
The term cell phone would have conjured up a phone in a jail cell, and a pager was the school PA system. A notebook was a spiral bound book of ruled paper to write in, not a computer! My pare...Expand for more
nts had to buy me a $100.00 Texas Instruments calculator for Physics class, and they thought that was outragious!
We wore whatever we wanted to wear. We didn't tuck in shirts or wear belts just because the pants (or shorts) had belt loops! However, NO ONE wore their pants down below their crack! Everyone wore jeans that fit properly, and did not have to be held up with a belt! And uniforms were worn only by private schools!
I can't even remember a school closing because of the heat, and it was HOT in "A" and "B" buildings! But I can remember a day or two when we had NO ELECTRICITY! Yet we persaviered in the heat (and cold), with only the light from the windows.
Those were some of the happiest days of my life!
Hope everyone is doing well! I'd love to hear from you!

More from the Story Wizard
To blow off steam and try to relax, I:
Play my giatar or piano, or do some sewing &/or crafting!
Who is my hero?
The Lord and then my grandparents. My paternal grandmother always said, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all", and she practiced what she said as well! She taught me crafting, such as, sewing, quilting, crochet - all the needle arts. Both grandmothers encouraged creative play. And equally, both demanded manners and class. And class had nothing to do with money, and everything to do with manners and how you held yourself!
